2021 ended with a bit of a letdown. I had planned to write the Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud Consultant exam for the second time during the holidays but instead got Covid and spend the days recovering. I was bummed, but I thought I could regroup and pass in February.

And then my dad got (more) sick. And then he went into the hospital. And then I had my last conversation with him, knowing it was the last conversation. And then he passed away.

I have a complicated relationship with my family of origin and this is not therapy, so all I will say is that when a parent pass all kinds of emotions come to the surface. Studying was the last thing I could focus on, and I am grateful for the support I had, personal and professional, while I regained my footing.

That came in the fall, when I passed three Salesforce exams in rapid succession:

  • September: Nonprofit Cloud Consultant
  • November: Platform App Builder
  • December: Business Analyst

What will 2023 bring? I’m signed up for a couple of Marketing Cloud classes so maybe a couple of those, or possibly the Process Automation Accredited Professional cert, or maybe I’ll (finally) get around to Sales Cloud. Regardless, I know that I’ll continue to grow my skills and build my experience in the Salesforce ecosystem so I can keep doing great work with nonprofits with gratitude. Wil sha.
